Kenn Peterson Joins GWIC to Lead National Preneed Sales Team

For more than 32 years, Peterson has helped funeral service professionals make a difference in the lives of the families they serve.

American Enterprise Group, Inc. (AEG), the holding company for Great Western Insurance Company (GWIC), is pleased to announce Kenn Peterson has joined the company as a Vice President, National Sales – Preneed. In this role, Peterson will focus on increasing Preneed sales for GWIC by applying a growth mindset and developing new competencies that help funeral homes and marketing organizations support the families they serve.
 
“We are excited to have Kenn lead our national sales team,” said Nathan Felix, Senior Vice President, Managing Director of Life at AEG. “His passion for helping others coupled with his extensive funeral service industry, management, and business development experience will help drive growth as we look to further build relationships with our Preneed distribution partners.”
 
Peterson, an Ohio native, has spent more than 32 years in the funeral service industry leading teams, solving problems, and helping funeral service professionals make a difference in the lives of the families they serve.

Prior to joining AEG, Peterson was Regional Director at Homesteaders Life Company, where he spent the last 18 years of his career. He also worked for Forethought Financial Services serving in numerous roles throughout his 14 years with the company.
 
Peterson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio; Master of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; and Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. He is a certified Celebrant, Life Tribute Professional, serves as a board member on the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science Board of Trustees, and is a past recipient of the Daniel A. Hillenbrand Award.

AM Best upgraded GWIC’s Financial Strength Rating (FSR) in April 2018 after the acquisition to A- (Excellent) from B++ (Good). All of AEG’s insurance company subsidiaries received affirmation of their A- (Excellent) ratings with revised outlooks from stable to positive in April 2019.
